Mr. Chapagain's journey to Magic Washer wasn't a traditional one. Growing up in Dingla, Bhojpur, he completed his early schooling there. His family, seeking greater stability, then moved to the Terai region. While government jobs initially held some appeal, Mr. Chapagain soon set his sights on entrepreneurship. He ventured to Kathmandu with the intention of studying abroad, particularly in Japan. However, visa rejection forced him to stay in the capital, where he pursued a master's degree. He explored various job opportunities, including paid internships at training institutes and audit firms, but ultimately found them unfulfilling. Returning to Biratnagar, he worked as an Area Sales Officer for a solar company and later pursued a role with a contracting company in Qatar. Yet, the entrepreneurial spark remained ignited, eventually leading him to create Magic Washer.

Early Challenges
The initial days were definitely tough," Mr. Chapagain recalls. "The COVID-19 lockdown forced us to deal with delayed payments, as some customers blamed the economic crisis for their inability to pay on time. On top of that, power cuts disrupted our laundry cycles, and delivering large items like blankets on motorbikes proved challenging. We also faced limitations due to the lack of a skilled and experienced team. However, we persevered through these challenges. Today, we boast a highly skilled team of seven, allowing us to operate with significantly greater efficiency.

Financial Journey
Looking back, managing finances in the initial stages was definitely an uphill battle," Mr. Chapagain admits. "Without a reserve fund, and facing external challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic and broader economic downturns, things got even tougher. Despite the rollercoaster ride, we've achieved a level of financial stability, albeit one that requires constant effort to maintain.

Teamwork is key to our success," Mr. Chapagain says. "We have a friendly and supportive work environment, and I always try to help my team overcome any challenges. We're also training everyone to do different tasks so we're prepared for anything. The team is amazing – they're hard-working and even went the extra mile by working long hours when things were tough. They even volunteered to clean the VIP entrance at the Biratnagar Airport, which made me really proud! We don't just serve Biratnagar; we also have customers in nearby cities like Itahari and Dharan, even though it costs more to deliver there. Our goal is to provide professional service and make sure all our customers are happy.
